Electric co-ops light up Coaches Aid.
|
Most people don't realize this, but Oklahoma's electric cooperatives
have been keeping Friday night lights shining across the state for years. Needless to say, those same electric cooperatives cheer for their hometown high school sports like a middle-aged all-star cheerleading squad. Which is why we're Herkie'ing with excitement to be creating an on-going, monthly series of community- and sport-specific CoachesAid.com
web ads for participating co-ops. The ads kick off in July. On the Traction side of things, we got all smart and devised an automated opt-in process that lets the co-ops pool their ad dollars and select the ads they want customized for use on their teams' Coaches Aid pages
. It's a homerun, touchdown, and buzzer-beater all in one.

Traction's adding 2 Ad2OKC.
|
Once upon a time way back in 2006, a group of daring young advertising ruffians took the OKC ad scene by storm and launched a lively organization geared towards fellow young advertising ruffians. The leader of that group? Traction's Prez, Tyler Smith. Going on five years later, Ad2OKC
is hitting its stride on the national level thanks, in part, to Traction's fifth generation of Ad2OKC Board representation. While Traction has left its mark on the organization over the years, the organization has definitely left its mark on Traction... All but one current Tractioneer hired in the last four yours sprang from Ad2OKC.

A little PR, PRease and Thanks.
|
Sure, Traction is one of the most new media savvy ad shops in all the land, but we've been known to get down and dirty with some good ol' traditonal public relations, too. Like last month when two of America's most beloved icons
from the Space Age decended upon BC Clark for an afternoon of retelling their exploits in the great beyond. To gear up the public event, featuring Apollo astronauts Lt. General Thomas Stafford (a Weatherford, OK native) and Captain Eugene Cernan (the last man to walk on the moon), we unleashed an onslaught of PR tactics that had event sponsor OMEGA Watches saying thanks.

I bid, you bid, we all bid for Quibids.com
|
Move over, Fantasy Football. There's a new productivity-sapping sheriff in town and its name is Quibids.com
, a local penny auction website that's going gangbusters in the ultra-competitive penny auction community. If you haven't checked it out yet, prepare to get hooked. Personally, we're hooked on giving Quibids a hand wherever they need it. Like taking Apple products off their hands for cheap, or perusing modeling agency websites for hours on end, looking for the star of their latest series of web ads. Yeah, it's a tough gig.

Notice anything different?
Chances are you haven't noticed the small tweaks we've made to this newsletter over the last couple of months. That's a good thing, though. It means we're only optimizing what needs to be optimized. Like the subscribe here link down yonder. It adds some very important functionality, and you probably didn't even realize it's new.

Best text ever
Like any proud OKC'er, you probably just recently filled out OK Gazette's
Best of OKC. Maybe you even entered the text-to-enter drawing for a gift certificate to the winner of Best New Restaurant. That little bit of interactivity is powered by our text message marketing service, textUR™. Which, unfortunately, is not a Best Of category.

And once again, we're naked
Unfortunately, is was finally time that Kelie Myers, the latest artist to be featured on the walls of Warehouse127, needed to strip us bare. We miss her work. So if you're a local artist, or know of one, who would like to clothe our walls, gives us a shout
. Fast. Please. We're starting to getting sun in places we didn't know the sun would go.
