2010: An ad space odyssey

We're hurtling toward the new year like Ben Affleck on an asteroid, and that can mean only one thing: The future of advertising is here and Traction has the heads-up for you. From new technologies and mediums to advice on how to even say 2010, let our blog post be your guide as you traverse an evolving advertising landscape.

The 411 on Warren Langford

When it comes to project work, it seems we've got a thing for Warrens . Our latest foray into the world of the Big Dubya comes by way of the Touchstone Energy Electric Cooperatives of Oklahoma. They asked us to build a quick, utilitarian website dedicated to their Touchstone Energy Board of Directors candidate, Warren Langford. So we did. In one day. And made it look good, too.

Facebook owned 2009

Contrary to what many social media "experts" might claim, Facebook threw down a 140-character tail whupping on Twitter in 2009. Sure, Twitter's user numbers shot up into the stratosphere, but Facebook calmly gave it the bird as it climbed even higher, to the tune of 200 million new users. Yes, if social media were an audubon society, Facebook would be the bald eagle. Not only did Facebook secure twice as much $$$ as Twitter in '09, it was also the most visited site in the U.S. on Christmas day. So what could the folks in Palo Alto possibly have left in their tank for 2010? How about some cosmetic surgey to start.

SOME OF OUR LATEST AND GREATEST

Northview Dental :)

Open up and say Ahhhh...some.
Recently, we've been sinking our
canines into some project work
for Northview Dental, North OKC's
most modern dentistry. He gets
jaw-dropping marketing materials.
We get something to :) about.

Going once...

How sweet would it be to get a
MacBook Pro for $50... legally?
Enter local online auction site
QuiBids
. If the prices aren't
enough to keep people coming
back, QuiBids' Traction-designed
newsletters
ought to do the trick.

Is it Friday already?

A few Fridays back, Oklahoma
City's favorite societal weekly
came looking for a pro'ed-up
media kit to hand over to their
national suitors. We obliged
them with a media kit that'll woo
the biggest advertisers.

The Dickey's getting hitched.

Mucho congratulations to Traction designer Aaron Dickey, who recently proposed to his better half, Brandi. To our bewilderment, she accepted. Let the crashing commence.

A Note from our President

I'd like to thank all our clients that trust us to do what we do best and that keep us busy during even some of the worst times our economy has ever seen. It shows how stable and important these businesses are. Although everyone's sales are down for the year, there's comfort in knowing nobody is alone and that 2010 will hopefully mark an up-turn for the new decade. I'd also like to thank our vendors who help make us look good. We couldn't do it without you.

Thank you all for your business and support,

Tyler Smith
