The BC Clark Jingle remix.

For more than 50 years, BC Clark Jewelers has been ringing in Oklahoma's holiday season with its famous Anniversary Sale Jingle. Running from Thanksgiving to New Year's, heavy radio and television play built the Jingle tradition. The last couple of years, though, we've incorporated social and new media strategies into the Jingle's marketing mix. We've got the ingredients to that mix on the Traction Blog.

Facebook has Holiday Horsepower.

'Tis the season for giving, and, for motorcycle-loving families, House of Kawasaki has the kid-sized gifts to give. Speaking of giving, HOK gave us the task of promoting their inventory of elf-sized motorcycles and ATVs with a cost-effective, immediate, and highly visible solution. The result is a Facebook ad campaign, a slick Holiday Horsepower landing tab widget , and this blog to show it all off.

What would you change?

That question is the premise of a Coming Soon social website we've been lucky enough to have our hands and brains in. But thanks to a non-disclosure agreement and a sincere belief that this puppy is going to take off, we can't say too much about it. If that's enough mystery to pique your interest, you can stay up on What I'd Change through Twitter and Facebook.

Be careful what you say.

Just a quick look across the infinite expanse of Twitter posts and Facebook statuses is enough to show just how little people know about talking in the public space. Amazingly, it seems to us that the majority of these public noise makers seem to think that what they say in 140 character or less is private. It's not. In the last week, we've twice utilized the public nature of the social web to teach this important lesson.

SOME OF OUR LATEST AND GREATEST

Leadership gets a logo

For the last decade, Oklahoma's
Touchstone Energy Electric
Cooperatives have recognized
hundreds of Oklahoma's high
school student leaders at the
annual Leadership Summit. This
year they recognized it was time
to give the Summit a new logo.

ProAir is looking fly

For most of us, flying an airplane
would be complicated enough.
So why should finding liability
insurance for aerial applicators
(crop dusters) be even more
complex? That's where ProAir
Risk Retention Group
and this
Traction-designed site come in.

We're igniting OKC

For the last couple of months,
Traction has been part of a
group working on the launch of
IgniteOKC. Along with all the
planning, brainstorming and
steering we've been involved in,
we jumped at the chance to put
together the new IgniteOKC.com.

Good company feels even better.

Traction's digs (aka - Warehouse127) were recently featured alongside the talent-filled confines of Google, Threadless, Seesmic, and our friends at Tatango. We're pretty proud of our place catching Officeal's eyes, and could spend hours browsing through all the other cool places where cool people work. Thanks, Officeal!

Oops. Traction dropped the knowledge.

One of the cool things about running a 35-year-old ad agency is that sometimes people actually think you know a thing or two about the industry. Recently, long-time Traction media buyer and AAF Silver Medal winner Marsha Ramée dropped some knowledge on OU's media students. Traction Prez Tyler Smith dropped some of his own on the same group at a later date and as a panelist at November's OMN/AWRT meeting. Finally, Traction's self-titled 'Creativist' Tanner Tate talked with college students that toured Traction's Warehouse127 for OKC Ad Club's annual Career Day.

Bye, Jill. Bye, Addy. We'll miss ya!

After a send-off lunch at Sage, Traction bid farewell to two of its favorite faces last Wednesday. To Account Exec Jill and Office Cat Addy, we'd like to say thanks for being a part of Traction and good luck in what's next.
